Homemade Tortillas

The other day, I didn't have any bread for the day, and my sourdough starter wasn't quite ready to make bread yet! So I brought out some flour and thought about what I could make and that's when I thought of some simple tortillas!!

Ingredients:

- 3 cups All purpose flour

- 1 cup Warm water

- 1/4 cup Olive Oil

- 3/4 teaspoon Salt

- 1 teaspoon of Baking powder

Directions:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients.

  2. Add the wet ingredients.

  3. Knead together with hands for 1 minute.

  4. Cut the dough into 12 pieces and shape into balls.

  5. Cover them and let them rest for 10 minutes.

  6. Roll dough balls with rolling pin out to 6-8 inch rounds. (the smaller the round, the thicker the tortillas)

  7. Heat an un-greased cast iron skillet on medium high heat.

  8. Place tortilla on skillet and cook until it has a few light brown spots on each side!

  9. Enjoy! (These can be stored airtight for 2 days or in the freezer for 3 months! Just thaw them out at room temperature before using! They are also best when heated!)
